In 2025, AfricTivistes marks ten years of unwavering dedication to democracy, the rule of law, human rights and civic innovation across the African continent. Founded in 2015, this pan-African network of change-makers has grown into a leading force in the digital civil society landscape.

Since its creation, AfricTivistes has successfully mobilised citizens, activists, journalists, artists and opinion leaders to defend fundamental freedoms. Through advocacy campaigns, training, digital education programmes and solidarity actions, the organisation has helped strengthen democratic culture in more than 30 African countries.

“AfricTivistes is not just an organisation; it is a continental movement for citizen emancipation”, declares its founding president, Cheikh Fall. Guided by this vision, the network has positioned itself as a pioneer in promoting the strategic use of digital tools, working simultaneously for transparency, citizen participation and combating disinformation. This holistic approach, combined with a strong commitment to facilitating access to technological tools and knowledge, has empowered AfricTivistes to support thousands of young Africans in becoming true agents of change.

This strategic and pan-African vision has been demonstrated over the years through:

The future: strengthening impact, extending legacy

To mark this important milestone, AfricTivistes is proud to launch its 2025-2029 Strategic Plan, an ambitious roadmap structured around five core pillars: technological innovation, democratic processes, citizen engagement, informational resilience and knowledge development. This plan is a call to action for all change-makers who share our vision of an Africa where civic tech drives participatory democracy.

Over the next decade, AfricTivistes will focus on consolidating its achievements by:
